All Chicago metro region Gardeners/Farmers are invited to participate In the Chicago Safe Soils Initiative.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Andrew Margenot, Assistant Professor of Soil Sciences at the University of Illinois will be offering free on-site soil lead screening, and presenting the Chicago Safe Soils Initiative. This project will build tools to inform stakeholder decision-making and develop evidence-based guidelines for soil lead (Pb) risk to food production.

Please join the Chicago Master Gardeners for potluck supper and this opportunity to learn about lead contamination in urban soils and have your soil screened on-site for heavy metals, using pXRF technology.
