AUA is excited to be a part of the Good Food EXPO, March 23-24: the largest gathering in the Midwest focused on locally and sustainably produced food! Join us for free workshops on urban growing practices, composting, raising urban livestock, culinary skills and for the first time, FREE on-site soil testing!

Check out soil sampling instructions here, and the full workshop schedule of urban agriculture topics!

In addition to all that, AUA’s Executive Director Laura Calvert will be moderating the panel “Local Food is Good Policy: 2018 City & State Legislative Initiatives” with Jen Walling, Illinois Environmental Council, Rodger Cooley, Chicago Food Policy Action Council, and State Representative Sonya Harper.

Meanwhile, AUA’s Programs Manager Nick Lucas will moderate “Innovative Tools in Chicago’s Fields: Initiatives & Technology Advancing Local Food, Soil Health and Compost” with Micheal Newman-Brooks, City of Chicago Urban Agriculture Project Manager, Ben Helphand, NeighborSpace, and Dr. Andrew Margenot, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
