AUA is partnering with the Good Food Festival to present a series of 20-minute micro workshops in composting, growing and preserving, led by experts from Chicago Botanic Garden, Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance, Lake Street Landscape Supply, Edible Alchemy and more! Click here for more info about the Commons (which will also feature livestock, culinary and community-building learning tracks) and the workshop schedule!

We will also be presenting a “civic engagement 101” panel entitled “Moving Beyond the Fork: Effectively Engaging Policy Change,” which will feature elected officials and advocates from the Illinois Stewardship Alliance and Angelic Organics Learning Center.  Click here for more info!

The Commons micro workshops and civic engagement panel will all take place on Saturday, March 15.  Be sure to stop by our info table that day as well!

AUA will also be represented at the Festival on Friday, March 14 during its Food Policy Summit, where Steering Committee Co-Chair Harry Rhodes will moderate a panel entitled Urban Agricuture and Local Food Enterprises as Vehicles for Community and Economic Development.

And don’t forget to check out all of the other awesomeness happening at the 3-day Good Food Festival (March 13-15), which is celebrating 10 years of promoting sustainable, local food!  There will be a Financing & Innovation Conference on Thursday, a School Food Summit and “Meet the Buyers” reception on Friday, more than 150 farms, local food artisans, restaurants, and non-profits, not to mention an urban farm tour, on Saturday, and so much more!
