Remembering Kevin Pierce

The local urban agriculture and sustainability community in Chicago mourns the death of one of its most knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated leaders.  Kevin Pierce was a long-time architect and sustainability designer, retiring from Shaw Environmental in July 2011 to become the Chief Operating Officer of the Resource Center Chicago, on which he served as a board member for a number of years. He was also a past member of the Advocates for Urban Agriculture (AUA) Steering Committee.  Kevin died May 2, 2013 from brain cancer. He will be sorely missed.

A private ceremony is being scheduled for later in the month. Donations in Kevin’s memory are requested to be made to Resource Center Chicago, 222 East 135th Pl., Chicago, Illinois 60827 (http://www.resourcecenterchicago.org/).
