Become a MEMBER of AUA!

AUA’s members include individuals, organizations and businesses that combine to support and contribute to AUA’s mission and vision of promoting urban agriculture.  AUA will endeavor to recruit as many members from as wide a cross-section of the Chicago metro area as possible.  AUA’s membership will unite to create a powerful voice and a supportive network that advances urban agriculture forward.  While it is impossible to guarantee that all of AUA’s members will always agree with every single position or action taken by the organization, AUA is recognized and valued as the primary hub and advocate for urban agriculture in the Chicago metro area.

While both active participation with AUA’s Working Groups and financial contributions are highly encouraged (click here or see below), neither is required; to become a member, all you have to do is indicate your support for AUA’s work by filling out the form below. 

Mission: Advocates for Urban Agriculture (AUA) is a coalition of individuals, organizations and businesses working to support and expand sustainable agriculture in the Chicago area, from home- and community-based growing to market gardens and small farms.

To pursue this mission, AUA:

  1. Advocates for good urban ag policy
  2. Shares information, resources, and best practices
  3. Connects practitioners, consumers, and projects through a strong network

Vision: AUA envisions a flourishing food system that promotes urban agriculture in the Chicago area as an integral part of community economic development, food security, environmental sustainability, and overall quality of life for the region, and in which practitioners, organizations, and residents can reap the benefits.

None of the information you enter will be shared with or sold to any other entity.  You can terminate your membership at any time for any reason by written request to AUA’s Coordinator or Connections Co-Chair.


In order to continue its advocacy, outreach, networking, and resource building work, AUA needs your help!  While membership does not require any financial contributions, financial support for AUA’s work is essential, and we strongly encourage you to pitch in as much as you can.  Whether it’s helping to fund website maintenance, printed materials, continuation of AUA’s Program Coordinator position, or a new Civic Engagement Coordinator position that AUA hopes to add soon, your donation will go a long way towards increasing AUA’s impact.  There are also a number of benefits that come along with donating $25 and up — click here to learn more!
