No snow isign Mark Wednesday, May 14 in your calendars, everybody!  AUA will be hosting its next Quarterly Gathering at the Arturo Velasquez Institute from 6 to 9PM, and it is shaping up to be a good one. In addition to our regular Potluck and Community Slideshow (more details below), the Spring Gathering will explore the big question of how to grow viable urban farming businesses with a panel and discussion about incubator farm projects across the city.

The panel will include representatives from the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Urban Farmer Incubator Program (which is an extension of Windy City Harvest, whose growing facilities and farmer training courses are based at the Arturo Velasquez Institute), Growing Power’s Farmers for Chicago program, and others, with Mike Nowak of WCPT’s (Chicago’s Progressive Talk Radio) The Mike Nowak Show moderating.

Keep an eye out for more details as the Gathering approaches!
